The earlier GT 40 has its own identity
Its central helm, hardtop, glazing and lower plan should all belong to the generation being discussed. A Cannes enquiry becomes clearer when it names those features alongside the badge.
Ask for current photographs and build-year information so a similar name does not lead to an unintended substitution. The purpose is a useful layout comparison, not a choice based on the newest or largest number.
The central helm keeps the view part of the day
With its helm beneath the hardtop and no separate upper social deck, the heritage GT 40 concentrates activity on its main cockpit level. That can keep a couple or small group close to the passage without repeatedly changing decks. The aft area supplies the outdoor table and seats for time at rest.
Compare where everyone can sit comfortably while travelling with the arrangement prepared for lunch. Those are different uses of the same footprint. The hardtop’s shade also changes with the sun angle; it does not cover every outdoor position throughout the afternoon.
Let food and lounging take turns
An outdoor cooking area and seating that can become a lounging space give the cockpit several roles. A simple meal may suit the available room better than elaborate service requiring extra equipment. Explain catering preferences early so the supplying operator can match food preparation and crew to the actual vessel.
After lunch, the group may prefer to clear the table and change the setting rather than immediately depart for another stop. Around Cannes, one well-chosen interval towards the islands can make those transitions feel natural without a packed sequence of destinations.
Two cabins support a separate overnight brief
The heritage interior has two cabins and a bathroom with a separate shower. For a short stay, compare who shares and where luggage goes before choosing the number of nights. Day guests may instead value the cabin as a changing room or quiet space while the cockpit remains social.
The distinction should remain clear: beds are not a measure of the permitted charter party. If someone needs easier movement, review boarding, steps and the lower-deck access with the operator. A compact sports layout should fit the people rather than require them to adapt to an unsuitable arrangement.
Give the Cannes timings a clear frame
Include the date, guests, useful hours and whether the request is daytime or overnight. Name the central social deck or cockpit meal setting as the reason for selecting the heritage GT 40, so alternatives can be evaluated on the same basis. Confirm the actual meeting berth and required return time. The proposal identifies the vessel, crew, charter allowance, equipment and full cost.
Charter questions

No. It covers the heritage 12.67-metre model. The later design must be identified separately.
Is the outdoor cooking area a promise of catering?
No. Catering, preparation and crew service are specific to the offer for the actual yacht.
