Two ports, different arrival plans

The Vieux Port sits beside Le Suquet and the central waterfront. Port Canto is farther along the Croisette, looking toward the islands. Both belong to Cannes, but they create different journeys for guests leaving a hotel, meeting or restaurant.

Ask for the actual berth before agreeing transport. For an event, a desirable berth is part of the brief, not something inferred from a yacht photograph. A yacht may be available while the requested quay is not.

If your guests must walk from the Palais area, make that requirement explicit and allow the proposal to explain what can be arranged.

Choose the right kind of space

A luxury yacht should make the day work. For lunch, consider how the whole party sits at the table. For a reception, look at circulation, catering access and shelter if the weather changes.

An overnight charter introduces cabin arrangements and crew service that may matter little on a short daytime outing. A superyacht's size does not by itself establish its permitted number of cruising guests. A quayside event can have a different approved guest arrangement from a cruise, and both need to be checked for the specific yacht.

Leave room for the islands

The Lérins Islands sit just offshore from Cannes and make a natural focus for a day charter. You can discuss time at anchor, lunch aboard and a shorter sightseeing passage without trying to cover the entire Riviera. Going west toward the Estérel changes the balance toward coastal scenery and more time underway.

An island name on the itinerary does not guarantee a particular anchorage, landing or restaurant table. The captain selects a suitable route and stop according to the conditions and local restrictions. If a shoreside meal is essential, arrange it with the charter timing and the means of getting ashore.

A Cannes event needs its own production brief

During the Film Festival or Cannes Lions, separate the yacht charter from the other arrangements the event needs. Access credentials, berthing, guest transfers, catering and branding do not arrive automatically with a yacht. A hosted reception also needs a clear start and finish, service requirements and a guest count that the operator can assess.

For an informal meeting, a quiet salon and a reliable arrival plan may matter more than the largest vessel. For a reception, discuss how guests move from quay to deck, where drinks are served and what happens if the wind changes the outdoor plan. We do not promise event access or a specific berth before those details are confirmed.

A complete price, then a decision

The proposal should bring the yacht rate and the expected extras into one readable picture. Ask how fuel, catering, taxes, berthing and crew are treated. On some charters an advance allowance is used for running expenses; the contract should explain how that is estimated and settled.

A short day charter may use a different arrangement. Send a date and an approximate party size, even if the rest is still taking shape. Include a fixed event, a preferred departure and any overnight needs.
